Spirit of Enderby stars

The name Spirit of Enderby honours the work and the vision of the Enderby Brothers of London. The Enderby Captains were at the forefront of Antarctic exploration for almost 40 years in the early 1800’s. It also celebrates Enderby Island, arguably the greatest Subantarctic Island in the world.

As the sister ship to our Polar Pioneer, she is near identical in layout and onboard facilities. Built in 1984 as a fully ice-strengthened expedition vessel for polar and oceanographic research, she was refurbished in 2009 as a passenger expedition ship. She carries just 50 passengers and features a range of cabin options, a combined bar and library lounge a dedicated lecture room.
